Home Up

Lonesome Dove

A really fun theme ride!

Hosted by Circle 4:  Dusty, Joanie and Laurie
and their trusty steeds Diesel, Honor, and Jack

Friday Night

I'm glad I was going West rather than East! (They are all stopped)

Saturday

Shade Hunters finding #1

When ribbed by Captain Call for his fascination with Latin, Gus responds:
"Well the first man comes along that can read Latin is welcome to rob us, far as
I'm concerned. I'd like a chance t' shoot at a educated man once in my life."

Gus might like to kick one now and then, but he sure as heck didn't rent them out.

Teams timing out:

Happy Trails:  Robin & Scotty

Lucky Ladies: Tracy and Kathryn

Hot to Trot:  Darell & Duke, Rita & Ransom

Die Hards II: Sue, Mike, and Candy

Shade Hunters: Laurajean & JJ, Ellen & Ernie, Shane & Ella

The Wild Rags: Conchita & Mr. Fetteris, Dan & Nightlinger,
Hank & Howdy, Cole & Dewey, Katelyn & Travis

Renegades:  Lee & Shadow, Christine & Bandit

Captain Call said, "I put a lot more value on the animal
than I do my name" when giving Newt his horse

"Peach" had a small but somewhat "fowl" scene as the former
mayor's wife. She sent reluctant Sheriff, July Johnson, after
her husband's killer but not before wringing the neck of this poor bird.

Indian scene with Gus and Pea Eye: Gus took two of these
in the leg before holing up in a creek washout with Pea Eye.

Gus seemed to know he was done for. He sent Pea Eye to fetch the Captain
for help. The swift current ripped the clothes right off old Pea Eye.

Wild Rags headed for #3

Die Hards headed for #3

At the gate between #2 and #3

The one gate I didn't have to open and close myself - Thanks Tracy!

I ran into almost everyone between #3 and #4

Blue Duck said an old woman taught him to fly. He was not a good student,
as apparent by his landing at attempting to fly out of the hangmen's grasp.

Jake Spoon: You know how it goes, Jake. You ride like an outlaw, you die like an outlaw.

Cross country between #4 and #5 was ROCKY

There was no doubt Gus loved his whores. He often cut cards with Lori Darling,
and figured a man who wouldn't cheat for a poke didn't want one bad enough.
Queen of Hearts beats a 10 of Spades any day.

Gus's winning cut card

Lori Darling's losing cut card

I think Gus would approve of the word scramble drawing prize

On the way out, I had a chance to take some pictures:

A field full of black cows with tan, grey, and white calves

herds and herds of deer - they know the ranchers don't allow hunting there

Old school house

Flock of wild turkeys

And a zebra - now, you don't see that every day
